Studio Upgrade - Avantone Mixcubes /
I recently acquired some Avantone Mixcubes for referencing my mixes on lower fidelity broadcast systems, and I could not be more pleased. These are phenomenally well constructed monitors. They are a huge asset in determining how a mix may sound in "Real World" environments.

I recently had the pleasure of doing some voice mix and cleanup work for PBS's Live From Lincoln Center: Sinatra: Voice for a Century. An excellent star-studded show hosted by Seth MacFarlane and the New York Philharmonic. I am very much looking forward to the broadcast. Airing this Dec. 18 on PBS.

I completed mixes for a number of promo spots for HBO's Bessie. The spots consist of music from various production sources - edited and smoothed out into one seamless spot. Sounds simple, but was considerably more complicated.
Bhi Bhiman - Moving to Brussels Video - Quick Mix /
Here's a fun quick little mix I did the other night for a Bhi Bhiman music video featuring Keegan-Michael Key. Source audio was pretty rough sounding and various elements had to be incorporated on a extremely tight turnaround. It was done fast, but the results are still quite good. And most importantly the spot is hilarious and the song is great...
New Studio Acquisition : Genelec 1031a /
Pristine Genelec 1031a's on beautiful Ultimate Support stands.
Sometimes you have to go with a classic. After demoing all of the latest and greatest new monitors - I decided on a pair of Genelec 1031a's. I realized that I had spent my first "10,000 hours" mixing on 1000 series Genelecs - You cannot deny what you know.
When setup and calibrated correctly, there are few monitors as truthful as well as enjoyable to work on as the 1031a. There is a reason why they are a studio "standard".
Plue, they are seriously good looking...

Brooklyn Mix Suite 2015 - Opening /
This last month I opened a mix suite in a commercial space in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with the aims of offering services to independent productions. The room is quite comfortable with plenty of natural light - as well as acoustically treated and soundproofed. It is still undergoing daily improvements, these are pictures of the initial setup. It is simply a joy to work here. Both clients both on-site and off have been extremely happy with the facility - and the quality of the mixes they are receiving. In February, I have the pleasure of working with the sound team at Onomatopoeia Inc. - as the dialogue editor and mixer for the theatrical release of Broadway's Romeo & Juliet (Starring Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad). A great experience and a wonderful sounding film.

Memphis – Theatrical Release – Broadway Worldwide

I had the honor of being the SFX editor and dialogue mixer and for the theatrical release of Broadway’s Memphis (Currently a “Must-Go” on fandango.com). This was a truly amazing project to be involved with on every level... Directed by Don Roy King (Saturday Night Live). Music mixed by Elliot Scheiner (Foo Fighters, Beck, Faith Hill, Steely Dan etc...)

Stephen Sondheim's Company 2011 Revival – Theatrical Release
(Dialogue Mixer)
"Screenvision brings the New York Philharmonic's presentation of Stephen Sondheim's Company to movie theatres across the nation. Neil Patrick Harris leads a star-studded cast which includes Patti LuPone, Stephen Colbert, Jon Cryer, Christina Hendricks, Craig Bierko and Martha Plimpton.”
This a tremendous show and a must see. Limited showings begin June 15th.

Never Stand Still - Moving Pictures

I was the dialogue editor for this wonderful documentary “...directed by award-winning producer and director Ron Honsa and narrated by Tony Award-winner and Kennedy Center honoree Bill T. Jones. Never Stand Still is an inspiring film about dance and the extraordinary performers who have dedicated their lives to it; filmed over several seasons on location at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, a National Historic Landmark and America’s longest running international dance festival.”

Rue89 - Photo /
One of my photos was used on the French website Rue89 in an article discussing yarn/knit-bombing. This regularly happens due to the Creative Commons licensing I have on the majority of the photos. Rue89 was nice enough to contact me prior to their usage. If you are using Google Chrome it will translate the page wonderfully for you.
